When did this transition occur?
This transition took place in July 2018. A mailing was sent this summer and staff members were contacting their supporters between April and June with phone calls and emails.
If I gave my verbal approval, do I need to do anything further?
No, your donation to support the mission will continue. Thank you for your generosity!
Will a donation I give to New York City Relief directly support a staff member?
Yes and no. Yes, the staff members are being compensated because of your donation to the general fund, however your donation does not go directly to the staff member. The New York City Relief general fund now covers all staff salaries, benefits, outreach, and administrative costs.
How does this affect New York City Relief's mission?
This salary transition is helping us to sustain our outreaches and support our mission to bring hope and resources to our neighbors struggling with homelessness.
